I agree with Kayla, I think even just some movement of the head could improve this a lot. I like the simplicity of your graphics. I think giving yourself a larger canvas to work on could help the slightly claustrophobic feeling the square resolution has (unless that was the point).
I love the message and the cat on your shoulder is very cute. There do seem to be some issues with the timing. Not everything matched to the audio and it ends abruptly. I don't know if that is what you're referring to as the wrong version in your comment.
